JORDSJØ - Nattfiolen LP
Jordsjø is symphonic prog from the flourishing Oslo scene. The band – from Oslo, Norway – is inspired by old horror movies, German 70s synth music, Norwegian jazz, campfires, Swedish folk music, fantasy novels and Norwegian nature. “Nattfiolen” is their second proper album, after a series of early cassette releases (compiled on a self titled 2CD set in 2018)
Following Jordsjø’s critically acclaimed album “Jord” (2018), the band return with their second album “Nattfiolen”. The seven songs fit seamlessly into their nature romantic, murky and apocalyptic forest prog. A dreamy and warm sounding record, filled with acoustic guitars, flutes, tape echo, analogue synths and Hammond organ. The music reflects the bands longing for a simpler life close to nature, and an imaginary past where life is centered around music.
The band, led by multi-instrumentalist Håkon Oftung (ex-Tusmørke), recorded and mixed the album in their own studio, and it was mastered by Jacob Holm-Lupo (White Willow, The Opium Cartel, etc.) at Dude Ranch Studio.
For fans of Änglagård, Tusmørke, Black Magic, Wobbler, Sinkadus. Featuring band members from Tusmørke and Black Magic.
